German physicist Fritz-Albert Popp discovered many years ago that all living things emit biophotons (tiny packets of light) on a constant basis. He now more recently demonstrated that these same biophoton emissions follow specific patterns that mirror the rhythms of the sun. Both humans and animals therefore follow natural daily, weekly and monthly biorhythms.

It all began in 1970 when Fritz-Albert Popp thought he had discovered a cure for cancer. As a theoretical biophysicist at the University of Marburg in Germany, he had been teaching radiology and the interaction of electromagnetic (EM) radiation on biological systems. Examining benzo[a]pyrene (a polycyclic hydrocarbon known to be one of the most lethal carcinogens to humans), he discovered that it absorbed UV light, then re-emitted it at a completely different frequency. Continuing his testing on 37 different chemicals (some carcinogen and other not), he was able to predict which substances could cause cancer because the carcinogenic one took the UV light, absorbed it and changed the frequency just like benzo[a]pyrene did.

Coming to the conclusion that each of the carcinogens reacted only to light at a specific frequency – 380 nm (nanometres), his further studies helped him discover that various frequencies were related to various functions. These and other studies proved to Popp that one of the most essential sources of light and biophoton emissions was DNA. Stimulating a certain frequency and corresponding molecules would react and light waves provided the answer to morphogenesis, or how the cells in the body can coordinate to create the body we have.

With the understanding that biophotons were sufficient to orchestrate the body, Popp’s further studies revealed measurable differences between the emissions during the day and at night as well as set patterns of biological rhythms at 7, 14, 32, 80 and 270 days.

Returning to his cancer research, Popp noticed that his cancer patients had lost their natural periodic rhythms and were less coherent with biological fluctuations as their healthy counterparts. So if photon emissions are more coherent in healthy individuals then such information could be used to correct the light of unhealthy ones when the emissions go awry.

This could be the explanation for why alternative treatments like homeopathy, acupuncture or electromagnetic stimulation have been shown to have powerful effects on healing. In essence, modern research is confirming what the Ancients already new. For 3000 years it has been known in Chinese medicine that energy tracks (also known as meridians) direct organ activity which are subject to rhythmical vibrations.
